Beating Fate

We ended up catching a bus from Shinjuku overnight to Nagoya. There are some interesting shaped buildings in this country. In Nagoya the crossing signal goes "ping pong, ping pong" instead of the Tōryanse tune. We dropped off some flowers for Bird and Ban-chan.

I had the strangest dream on the bus, then I woke up disorientated. I misplaced myself. I thought how nice it was for the bus driver to be announcing in Japanese for the foreigners on the bus. I looked around. There were quite a lot of asian people on the bus. It wasn't until I saw and held my partner that my universe came in to focus.

We caught the train straight to Tsukinoniwa and were greeted with a delicious breakfast/lunch. I met everyone again. It was great to see old friends but unfortunately we were unable to see Kaori or Masaru. Kaori was visiting Masaru in hospital . Even without Kaori around the food is as authentic and beautiful as ever.

That evening just like old times, we had drinks and bites at Shunsuke's. Much alike Kaori, he is a master chef and the most hospitable host. He has an uncanny gift of livening the dining table.
