Police Galore

On June the 8th a guy named Satō killed 7 people and injured 10 with knife and a truck. Check the wikinews here. Now the government is taking knives off shelves, bumping up the number of patrolmen and possibly making security tighter on a truck rentals. This hit the media and now Japan isn't a safe place anymore. What a fad. It happened just before an international official meeting. Can't be a good look for the country. But how can you prevent something like that happening again? ... you can't. There's crazy people in every country including this one. Best thing you can do is try not to scare the people with mass bullsh*t media.

Akihabara

Walking with their batons extended and giving an 'old English swordsman salute' whenever they passed by each other, 2 on each corner, 4 walking at a time swapping when the walkers reach the corners (with a salute). Their presence seemed to have held off any more massacres, spontaneously happening in the same place.

Skyrise Buildings

I went to Shinjuku yet again to get some twilight shots of the Skyscrapers.

Sun Rainbow Red Day

Here's a strange phenomena that I've seen three times now. Not so much the rainbow around the sun but on the ground everything was red. I saw it in the snow at Nozawa. I've asked people about it but I haven't found an answer yet.

Later that night, I revisited Shinjuku to take some more night shots from on top of the metropolis building.

Another Bike Ride

I found a forest in Tōkyō again. It's not too far from our house. They even protected the fern by building small fences around them.

Funny real estate sign with a logo of a happy house giving you the middle finger :P Thought I better publish this one.

Happy Birthday Hiromi

Happy birthday Hiromi! She's now 28, a few months wiser than me. I made crumpets. It was something we both missed from New Zealand. It was well worth the wait.

Immigration Day

Today I went to immigration to find out that New Zealanders can only stay in Japan for 3 months on a visitors visa instead of 6. This royally botched up my plans cause now I had to plan to leave the country and come back to get another 3 months. Above that, Japanese officials are stunningly ignorant to anything lawful and inspection officers let people in and out of the country based on a whim.

Crossing just outside our place.

A Japanese cop car.

The drivers seat of a train.

Shinjuku Day Part 6

After we split up I went on an "Emo" hunt. I found a few that were dressed like Emo's but there was one that was a true Emo. If you look at the guy with the cigarette in his hand, I think he is the literal epitome of what an Emo is surposed to be. When I asked if I could take a photo of him he became very timid and nervous but gave a slight nod. While I was taking the photo he was shaking with stress while puffing his cigarette.

This friendly lot asked me to be in the photo too. They even grabbed a couple of cute young girls to sit next to me in the shot. I love the look of the guy with the rings. Wish the cell phone took better night shots.

Shinjuku Day Part 5

This is the Tokyo Metropolis building by night. It lights up and it's much prettier, don't you think?

Here's a Korean guy I met.

And him with his friend.

A guy from Belgium and expert photographer decided to take some expert photos of them with the giant building in the background. We tagged along together as a bunch of tourists.
