Hiroshima

On my first night of freedom, I went to the city of Hiroshima to find an internet cafe to stay. I found one, and what luxery it was. Free icecream and amenities, hot shower, washlet toilets, free comics, playstations, internet (of course), pool, darts, massage tools and so on. It was only for 12 hours but the best 12 hours I've had in months.

Manhole Hiroshima

If you look closely, especially in the cities, you'll find a lot of art, from street lamps to railings, concrete patterns and so on. A lot of small things are crafted with colours or patterns that serve only for beautification. I like this. Here's an example. There's significance to this manhole. Sadako was one of many atomic bomb victims. She was a mile from the blast and contracted leukemia. In hospital her best friend Chizuko started making her paper cranes. Chizuko explaned that a legend told if she folded one thousand paper cranes as gift to another than she would be granted a wish. She started folding. After 800 or so her friend died. Her story spread worldwide. Paper cranes would be sent from children all over the world in hope for world peace. A memorial was made in commemoration to all of the children who fell victim to the blasts.
